As Seen In: The New York Times
We were super honored to be interviewed for an article from The NY Times. We chatted with the amazing Danielle Braff about delayed dress delivery times, best practices for ordering gowns and what couples should expect while planning a wedding in 2022.
Like many interviews, some insight was left on the cutting floor so we thought weโd share what was discussed with you:
Many brides cautious of COVID exposure and rising numbers have delayed shopping to protect loved ones, such as grandma, from possible exposure being in crowds. To combat this concern, we offer a private VIP appointment where we close the shop to the bride and her party only where they partake in sweet treats and champagne for a safer experience than visiting a big box shop. If interested, we encourage brides to find a local bridal boutique to support small business and partake in this fun experience!
For brides that have delayed and find themselves without a dress, we suggest several strategies to secure your dream wedding gown:
1) Consider an off the rack gown purchase. Off the rack gowns are boutique samples that have been tried on a few times. Buying a sample gown, some with minor imperfections, such as a missing button, will score you a designer gown for less than retail!
2) Oftentimes, boutiques are open to selling brand new sample gowns to brides with quick wear dates. But be prepared to pay the same price as a new gown, when taking this route.
3) If you consider yourself a risk-taker bride, google search all your local boutiques, give them a call and ask if they will be hosting a designer trunk show. These shows provide the opportunity to get the seasons' newest gown at a minor discount (say 5-10% off).
4) Be prepared to raise your budget just slightly and your dress designer may be open to producing your gown with a rush fee, putting you in front of the production line!
